Why I built Noted

I knew the name, not the person.

Most of the people you know aren't in your inner circle. They're the first ones you forget, and some of the most worth remembering. Noted is for them.

Why I built Noted

A few years into my career, past colleagues started reaching out. Could I give a reference? Make an intro? Or I'd see a former coworker show up as a mutual connection with someone I wanted to meet.

I'd remember the name, maybe the face. But not the person. How long we'd worked together, what we'd built, whether they had kids. I went into those conversations blind, and I think it showed.

With the people closest to me, it was the opposite. Family, friends I've known for decades, the few colleagues I spent the most time with. I remembered what mattered to them, and it made every conversation better.

The trouble is everyone in between. That's most of the people I know. They're the first ones my memory lets go of, and the older I get, the faster that happens. They're also the ones I most need to remember.

I'd read How to Win Friends and Influence People and Never Eat Alone. I knew real relationships are what build a career. I just couldn't keep up with that many people on my own.

So I built Noted. It helps me remember everyone in between the way I remember my inner circle, and keep doing the small things I know work.

Why the details slip away

A regular LinkedIn account has no place for personal notes. A work CRM holds the deal, not the person, and it stays with your employer when you leave. Your memory does its best, but it can't hold hundreds of people.

Noted gives those details a home: a short note in your own words. It shows up right where you meet that person again, on LinkedIn, in Gmail and in Google Calendar.

What we believe

Curate, don't collect.

Your notes are yours

Only you can see them. They're never shared or sold, and they go with you when you change jobs.

People, not pipelines

Noted is for remembering people, not managing deals. No stages, no scores, no sequences.

Human on purpose

You write every note yourself. If we ever use AI, it'll be to help you remember, never to talk for you.

Light enough to keep using

No setup and no importing your whole inbox. Add people one at a time, as you meet them. And it's free.

Remembering people is a practice, not a database.

Write it down. Bring it up. The details in your notes are things you noticed, and Noted brings them back at the right moment, so you can show up as yourself.
