Terms of service

Last updated October 12, 2026

These terms cover your use of Noted: the Chrome extension, the web app at app.withnoted.com, and this website. By using Noted, you agree to them.

The short version: your notes are yours, use Noted kindly and lawfully, and Noted is provided as it is, for free.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13 to use Noted.
  • Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • We suggest signing in with a personal email, so your notes stay with you if you change jobs.

Your notes are yours

You own the people and notes you add. You give Noted permission to store them and show them to you, only so Noted can work. We don't sell them, and we don't use them for anything else. Our privacy policy explains exactly what's stored and where.

You can export everything (CSV or JSON) or delete your account at any time from Settings in the web app.

Use Noted kindly

Your notes are about real people. Please keep them respectful and lawful. Don't use Noted to:

  • harass, stalk, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
  • store information you have no right to keep, such as someone's passwords, ID or payment card numbers;
  • break the law, or the terms of the sites Noted works on (LinkedIn, Gmail and Google Calendar);
  • access someone else's account, or try to break, overload or get around how Noted works.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

LinkedIn and Google

Noted works alongside LinkedIn, Gmail and Google Calendar, but it isn't made by, affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn or Google. Those companies can change their sites at any time, which may stop some Noted features from working until we update them.

Free, and changes

Noted is free. If we ever add paid features, we'll tell you before anything changes, and features you already use won't start charging you without your agreement.

We may add, change or remove features. If we ever shut Noted down, we'll give you reasonable notice and time to export your notes.

No warranties

We work hard to keep Noted reliable and your notes safe, but Noted is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Exporting your notes now and then is a good habit.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Noted isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Noted. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If the change is significant, we'll also tell you in the extension or web app. Continuing to use Noted means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
